Rapid Implementation

A recent IDC and DMReview survey revealed that the implementation time of an average BI project is 17 months, and the average project success rate is only 31%.

These two less-than-stellar statistics are related. Most BI projects involve a long development cycle culminating in a “big bang” release. The process begins with requirements gathering, proceeds to an interminable data mapping and data warehouse development effort, concluding in dashboard and report development. By the time the project is complete (nine to eighteen months later), business requirements have very likely changed.

Altosoft is different. We take an iterative approach to the BI, which focuses on the business user requirements for reports and analytics, rather than data warehouse development. With Altosoft, a business user can literally sit down side by side with an analyst or IT person, and build a new dashboard out in the course of a few hours. Speed and ease of use effectively enable spiral development. End users see solution value almost immediately:

  • In hours. You will see your live data in a dashboard.
  • In days. You’ll have access to tested, validated reports.
  • In about one week. You can have a deployable solution ready to go.
  • And in minutes. You can make changes, adjustments, and improvements.

How do we do it? First, Altosoft is 100% codeless. Complete BI solutions can be developed without a single line of Java, C++, SQL, or proprietary scripting. Everything is drag-and-drop.

But perhaps the biggest time and cost saver comes as a result of our unified architecture, which includes our unique MetricsMart solution [link to MetricsMart page]. Thanks to MetricsMart, Altosoft doesn’t require traditional ETL or data integration software. It also enables us to significantly reduce the maintenance and cost associated with data warehouses. And of course, everything is managed through one single interface (Insight Studio) so implementation and change is easy.

This efficient, unified, holistic approach is saving our customers millions of dollars as an alternative to traditional data warehouse approaches. Some of the world’s largest companies in industries ranging from financial services to telecommunications are using Altosoft to save significantly on data warehouse development, maintenance, and even hardware. And they are doing it without sacrificing performance or scalability.

Here’s what one of our customers had to say about Altosoft’s rapid implementation capability:

The verdict is in. Altosoft solutions can typically be implemented in about one tenth the time and at significantly less than half the cost of traditional BI approaches.
