Altosoft has completely re-thought traditional BI by focusing on the information needs of end users. We apply the most modern technical approach at each point in our architecture, including high-performance in-memory processing and advanced Intelligent Data Acquisition (IDA) technology. We go beyond traditional BI by supporting real-time events, business process analysis, and incident management. And we’ve made the entire package simple to use by eliminating the need to code and providing one single interface for all configuration.

And perhaps the biggest time and cost saver -- as a result of IDA technology and our in-memory architecture, we don’t require a traditional data warehouse or ETL software. (Of course, if you already have one that you want to use as a data source, we can leverage it.)

The traditional foundation of BI -- data warehouses and ETL are expensive to build and expensive to maintain. You could argue that they’re a necessary evil. After all, the traditional assumption that in order to analyze large amounts of data from multiple sources, it is first necessary to move the data out of those source systems, put it in a new location that has been specially designed for reading and storing data (the warehouse) and organize the information in advance to optimize query performance (cubes).

Organizations budget millions of dollars every year just for building and maintaining data warehouses and ETL infrastructure. Over the last few years, an entire industry has emerged just to sell hardware and storage solutions that reduce the expense and complexity of data warehousing.

But what if data warehouses and ETL aren’t necessary? What if they could be...optional?

Altosoft has developed a revolutionary new approach that mitigates the need for data warehouse infrastructure while delivering extremely high analytical performance across multiple large databases.

  • Altosoft delivers low latency data for monitoring and analysis. With an Altosoft solution, there is no more need to wait 24 hours for the data warehouse to be updated in batch in order to get the latest business data and analytics.
  • Altosoft significantly accelerates complex cross-database calculations like outer joins that in many cases are requisite for delivering useful business analysis. As a result, operational database performance is optimized and requirements for expensive hardware investment are minimized.
  • Altosoft automatically determines data dimensions, eliminating the need to define and build data cubes up front for optimized query performance, and dramatically reducing the costs of change if analytical requirements need to be adjusted.
  • Altosoft reduces load on operational systems or data stores by intelligently reducing query load on those systems versus traditional data warehouse or BI techniques.
  • Altosoft does things that traditional data warehouse architectures aren’t good at – like analyzing process performance, and tracking the evolution of KPIs and their results over time.

Altosoft’s patent-pending technology is saving our customers millions of dollars as an alternative to traditional data warehouse approaches. Some of the world’s largest companies in industries ranging from financial services to telecommunications are using Altosoft to save significantly on data warehouse development, maintenance, and even hardware.

Of course, Altosoft still works with existing data warehouses. It plugs right into a data warehouse and enables data monitoring, analysis, and dashboard visualization in minutes. And since even the largests and best-designed data warehouses inevitably don’t contain all the enterprise data that needs to be analyzed, Altosoft can come in very handy. In these situations, Altosoft can combine warehouse-based data and data from other systems, calculate KPIs, and deliver analysis – without requiring modification of your data warehouse environment. In fact, some of Altosoft’s largest customers, with massive data warehouses, are using Altosoft for exactly that purpose.
