The Insight Analysis Server is an essential component of the Insight architecture that manages interactions between the front end of Altosoft Insight (including the dashboard, reporting module, Microsoft Office plug-ins, and web services interface) and Altosoft’s optimized, self-maintaining data store. The Analysis Server is designed to support even the most complex business environments, where scalability and query performance is essential.

The Analysis Server is responsible for:

  • KPI analysis. The Analysis Server processes incoming queries from the Insight Dashboard and other sources, runs these queries against the optimized Altosoft data store, and returns the result for visualization or analysis by end users, or response via Altosoft’s web services API.
  • Process analysis. The Analysis Server delivers process KPI results in the same way that it handles requests for traditional KPIs.
  • User permissions and data governance. The Analysis Server manages interactions with the Altosoft data store to ensure that users are only able to access and visualize the data that they are permitted to see. Access can be based on individual privileges or role-based privileges, including support for LDAP.
